Temple Women's Basketball Beats St. Bonaventure in Overtime

The Temple women's basketball team traveled to St. Bonaventure and topped the Bonnies, 85-71, in overtime. It was the third win in a row for the Owls.

Temple jumped out to an early advantage by shooting a sizzling 57.7 percent from the floor in the first half to take a 37-24 halftime lead. However, the Bonnies wouldn't go down without a fight as they battled back to tie the contest, 62-62 and send the game into overtime.

The overtime period belonged to the Owls as they dominated St. Bonaventure by going on a 13-0 scoring run to open the overtime. Temple would score 23 points in the extra stanza and cruise to the 14-point victory.

Temple was led by Nicole Chaszar who scored 21 points including four three-pointers. Freshman Stacey Smalls scored 18 points, grabbed seven rebounds and handed out six assists. Melissa Eagles scored 12 points and Regan Apo headed the bench effort by dropping 10 points.

With the win, the Owls improve to 8-14 overall and 3-8 in the conference. St. Bonaventure drops to 8-14 overall and 4-7 in the conference.
