Hittner Leads Penn Over Temple

Philadelphia, Pa. - Sophomore Lauren Hittner (Natick, Mass.) established a
school record in the All-around for the second consecutive meet as the Penn
gymnastics team defeated Temple Friday evening at Hutchinson Gymnasium,
191.250 (school record) - 184.825.
Hittner's score of 38.725 surpassed her score of 38.60, set last week in
the Quakers' win versus Brown (1/5). She tied the school-record with a
score of 9.825 on the beam, tying her with Jenn Capasso (Randolph, Mass.)
for team-high in the event. Hittner also claimed the vault with a 9.575.
Other outstanding performances on the afternoon included freshman Meaghan
Sanders' (Carlisle, Mass.) score of 9.80 on the floor exercises, sophomore
Sarah Tudryn's (Springfield, Mass.) 9.750 on the bars, Joci Newman's
(Dunwoody, Ga.) 9.70 on the beam and Becky Nadler's (Westport, Conn.) 9.70
on the floor exercises.
The Quakers' team score of 191.250 surpassed the old record of 190.575,
established on March 21, 1998 at the ECAC Championships.
