Miller and Shugart Named 2026 EAGL Assistant Coaches of the Year

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. - At the conclusion of the 2026 EAGL Championship at LIU on Saturday, March 21, the EAGL annual awards winners were announced. Temple Gymnastics assistant coaches Brittney Miller and Joel Shugart were named EAGL Assistant Coaches of the Year.
 
Brittney Miller and Joel Shugart from Temple provide a level of value and dedication to Temple Gymnastics that is unmatched. The two are the heartbeat of the team and do all the unseen tasks that are so crucial to the success and forward movement of the program.
 
Miller is the team's vault coach, and she has coached several successful individuals this season. Amelia Budd ranks third in the conference on vault and Nikki Rengifo sits in fifth. Budd and Rengifo each were recognized with First Team all-EAGL honors on vault. Miller is also crucial in the planning of the Owl's social media on both Instagram and X.
 
Shugart is the team's uneven bars coach. He has been able to take a young bars lineup and give them confidence and poise. Robyn Dunne is one of the top competitors in the conference on bars, sitting in fifth place overall. Ava Sutphen is a standout freshman for the Owls on bars, posting two 9.800s this season. Dunne finished the year as a First Team all-EAGL member on bars and Sutphen was Second Team all-EAGL.
