Temple Women's Basketball Wrecks Rhode Island, 67-42

Philadelphia (February 18) -- The Temple women's basketball team beat Rhode Island, 67-42, tonight at the Liacouras Center. It gave the Owls the season series sweep of the Rams.
The Owls featured a balanced scoring attack led by Kim Martin who came off the bench to score 15 points. She also shared the team-high in rebounds with five. Nicole Chaszar added 14 points and Melissa Eagles chipped in with 10 points.
Temple trailed the contest briefly in the first half before taking control of the game. The Owls led the Rams, 30-19, at halftime. Temple opened the second half by going on 22-4 scoring run and breaking the game wide open. The Owls' lead would balloon to 29 before coasting to the victory.
Temple played their trademark defense by snatching 13 steals and forcing 25 Ram turnovers.
With the win, the Owls improve to 9-16 overall and 4-10 in the Atlantic 10. Up next for Temple is a trip to Fordham to face the Rams on Sunday.
