Temple Golf Brings Home First Victory of the Season

Williamsburg, Va.-- The Temple University golf team came away with a victory at the Golden Horseshoe Tournament on Tuesday,
March 28, 2000. The tournament took place at the par 72, 6,800-yard Golden Horseshoe Green Course. The tournament, which
had originally been scheduled for two rounds, was shortened to one day due to rain.
The Owls shot a five over par 293, one stroke better than runner-up Old Dominion (294). Rounding out the top five were
Colgate
(295), Liberty (296) and Seton Hall (297).
Leading the Owls to victory was Junior Chris Bartolacci, who shot a one-under-par 71 and finished tied for fifth.
Sophomore Garren
Poirier and junior Mark Watt both turned in a two-over-par 74 and were tied for 14th at the end of play. Senior
Steve Probst and
junior Nick Anderson both shot a four-over-par 76 to finish tied for 43rd.
The Owls will compete in the Campbell University Invitational at Keith Hills Country Club in Buies Creek, N.C. this weekend, April
3-4.
