Women's Track Competed In Penn Invitational

Philadelphia, Pa. (April 8) - This past weekend Temple women's outdoor track
team competed in the Pennsylvania Invitational at Franklin Field.
Catherine Gormley finished in the top position for the Owls with her fifth
place finish (3.05m) in the women's pole vault. Both Joi Brown and Melanie
Crumbia placed in the hammer throw. Brown finished in sixth place (41.66m)
and Crumbia in seventh (38.86m). Crumbia also finished 21st in the discus
throw (33.34m).
Carla Miles placed in two events at the Invitational. She finished in ninth
place in the 100 meter dash (12.70) and 20th in the 200 meter dash (26.30).
Roxanne John finished 15th in the 100 Meter Dash (13.26) and 41st in the 200
meter dash (28.20). Raina Marshall placed 22nd in the 200 meter dash (26.40)
and 21st in the 100 meter high hurdles (1:16.00).
In the women's 800 meter run, Kimberly LeBlanc finished 41st (2:40.20) and
Marshall finished 44th (2:47.30). Varinka Barbini placed 14th in the 1,500
meter run (5:01.51) and Christine Leahy finished 44th (6:01.41).
Temple women's B team finished 11th in the 4*400 meter relay with a time of
4:13.60.
