Men's and Women's Track Competes At IC4A and ECAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships

A number of Owls competed in the IC4A and ECAC Outdoor Track and Field
Championship from May 18-21 at William Weaver Stadium in Princeton, N.J.
For the women's squad, Afia Brown advanced to the the semifinals of the 100
meter dash, where she finished 13th with a time of 12.32. Brown also
finished 13th in the preliminaries of the 200 meter dash with a time of
24.83. Teresa Covert placed 10th in the preliminary round of the 100 meter
high hurdles in 14.49 before finishing the day with a 14.55 in the
semifinals in 13th place.
The 4X100 meter relay team of Naomi Beverly, Dionna Miller, Covert and Brown
crossed the line in sixth place in the preliminary in 47.83. The group
finished the day in fifth place with a 47.08, just 1.32 seconds behind Seton
Halls first place finish.
For the men, Shawn Wilson and Andre Turner represented Temple in the 400
meter dash. Wilson ended the day with a 48.52 and Turner with a 48.70, but
neither qualified for the next round. Tracey Champion competed in the 110
meter high hurdles competing the event in 15.44, but did not qualify for the
finals.
