9.14.00 | Men's Soccer
PHILADELPHIA (September 13) - After finding the net early in the game, the Temple
Men's soccer squad allowed two Delaware goals and fell to the Blue Hens
2-1 Wednesday afternoon (9-13-00).
Temple defender Matt Kaufman (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) scored his
first goal of the season less than five minutes into the game on a pass
from senior midfielder Danny Murtaugh (Philadelphia/Northeast
Catholic). Kaufman's goal would turn out to be the only Temple score of
the game.
The Owls went into the locker room at halftime with the one goal lead.
However, Delaware owned the second half. Delaware defenders Mat Dunbar
(Hockessin, Del./McKean) and Kyle Shilcock-Elliott (Wayne, Pa./Radnor)
each found the back of the net to put the Blue Hens ahead for good 2-1.
Forward Seth Duhl (Long Beach, N.Y./Long Beach) and midfielder Brian
Shepanski (Glen Mills, Pa./Garnet Valley) recorded the assists.
The Temple Owls are now 1-3-0 on the season. Temple will be on the
road next week, as their next game will be Saturday, Sept. 23 at St.
Joseph's University at 7:30 p.m.
