Kovaci and Haba Earn Atlantic 10 Volleyball Honors

PHILADELPHIA - For the second time this month, Alma Kovaci was named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week in volleyball. Freshman teammate, Yamit Haba was named Atlantic10 Rookie of the Week as the Owls got off to a hot start in the Conference with back to back road wins.
Kovaci was a "killer" once again as she averaged 6.5 kills, 5.25 digs and 1.0 services aces per game for the week during Temple's victories over George Washington (3-2) and Duquesne (3-0) to raise Temple's match record to 5-6 , 2-0 in the conference. In both matches she recorded double doubles (35 kills, 24 digs vs. George Washington - 17 kills, 18 digs vs. Duquesne) Haba averaged 4.29 kills and 3.0 digs per game during the week and registered her second double double of the season with 23 kills and 15 digs against George Washington.
The Owls return to the nest on Friday, September 29 at 7:00 p.m. to face Dayton and Saturday, September 30 against Xavier at 5:00 p.m.
