OWLS SHUTOUT GEORGE WASHINGTON 3-0

PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple University volleyball team (11-3, 4-1) shutout the George Washington Colonials three games to none on Tuesday night, October 2, 2001 at McGonigle Hall. The game scores were 30-27, 30-19 and 30-17.

Sophomore outside hitter Yamit Haba led the way for the Owls with 13 kills and 11 digs. Fellow sophomore outside hitter Lui Shu had 7 kills and 10 digs while middle-blocker Margaret Majewska had eight kills and six digs. Junior setter Solana Lee added 43 assists and 11 digs in the Owls win.

The Colonials were led by sophomore Sarah Hokom with seven kills and 13 digs and sophomore Ruth Lazzari with nine kills and nine digs.

The Owls travel to Ohio where they will face A-10 rival Xavier on October 5, 2001. Game time is at 7:00 p.m.
