RAISCH, WACKER AND WEBB END OWLS NINE GAME LOSING STREAK

PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple men's soccer team (3-13-1, 2-8, A-10) broke a nine game losing streak today, November 2, 2001 when they defeated the La Salle Explorers 3-2.

The Explorers came out early when junior Stephen Kohut scored just three minutes into the game at the 3:12 minute mark. The Owls answered back towards the end of the first half with a goal by senior midfielder Jim Raisch. The Temple freshman took over in the second half with goals by forwards Steven Wacker and Nate Webb. La Salle tried for a come back late in the game on a penalty goal by Lou Daniele but Temple's defense were able to hold off the Explorers.

Junior goalie J.R. Sames had six saves on the day while La Salle's goalie Stash Graham had four.

The Owls play their last game of the season on Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m.
