TEMPLE UNIVERSITY, BIG 5 TEAM TO FIGHT HUNGER AT BIG 5 CLASSIC

Ticket holders are being asked to bring a canned good for the Greater Philadelphia Food Bank collection on Saturday, December 8, 2001 at The Palestra. The dual event starts with a doubleheader at 1 p.m. with the La Salle Explorers and the Drexel Dragons in the first game, followed by a Saint Joseph's Hawks and Penn Quaker match-up. The evening session begins at 8 p.m., when the Villanova Wildcats take on the Temple Owls.
"We are truly excited about this event," stated Big 5 Executive Director Paul Rubincam. "Not only will it be an excellent day of competitive Big 5 basketball, but we'll be kicking off our efforts to alleviate hunger in the greater Philadelphia area. It's a true win-win situation."
