Golfers Place Seventh At George Washington Invitational

ISSUE, MD - The Temple University golf team recorded its highest finish of the year, placing seventh at the George Washington Invitational on April 1-2. The Owls shot a combined score of 634 (+58) over the two day event held at the Swan Point Yacht and Country Club in Issue, Md. McNeese State University won the event with a score of 616 (+40).
The Owls were led by Chris Bartolacci, Sean McCafferty and Mark Watt, who each shot 158 (+14) for the championship. The trio finished in a tie for 28th place in the individual competition. Bartolacci and McCafferty each shot 78-80, while Watt shot the Owls low round of the tournament, a 75 in the Monday round. James Chan also had a strong performance shooting a pair of 80s to finish in a tie for 41st at 160 (+16). Lee Snelgrove finished in a tie for 80th with a 168 (+24).
The Owls will next travel to Smith Mountain, Va. For the Liberty Spring Classic. The event will be played at the Waters Edge Country Club April 9-10.
