20-11 Overall, 13-3 Atlantic 10 Conference (3rd place)

Coming off a third consecutive Atlantic 10 Conference championship and NCAA Tournament appearance, sixth-year head coach Bob Bertucci's 2000 Temple volleyball team played its most ambitious schedule ever ... Overall, the Owls lined up against six of the nation's top 25-ranked teams ... After opening with wins over Colgate and Seton Hall, the Owls dropped a hard-fought match to nationally ranked Ohio State, then rebounded to sweep Texas San Antonio ... A West Coast swing followed, where the Owls dropped five straight to nationally ranked USC, Pepperdine, Long Beach State, BYU and Utah ... The team righted itself by winning the following 10 matches, including a 9-0 start in Atlantic 10 Conference play ... Back-to-back A-10 losses at Xavier and Dayton followed before the front-running Owls reeled off another five straight conference wins ... Entering the conference tournament as the No. 3 seed, the team was defeated by No. 2 Xavier in the first round ... Senior outside hitter Alma Kovaci finished her career as Temple's most honored volleyball player in history ... Kovaci was selected to the All-Atlantic 10 Conference Team for a second-straight year, the AVCA All Northeast Region Team and AVCA All-American honorable mention ... Freshman Yamit Haba named the Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie of the Year.
