The Temple track and field program continued positive growth under head coach George Phillips in his second year ... The Owls' most impressive gain came in the women's indoor competition, where the program jumped from fourth to second at the Atlantic 10 Conference Championships Meet ... The women produced four firsts --including the 4x400-meter relay-- five seconds and two thirds at the conference championship meet ... In the A-10 outdoor competition, the women dropped to fifth, yet produced five firsts, including both the 4x100-meter and 4x400-meter relays, two seconds and one third ... The men were a consistent fifth in both the A-10 indoor and outdoor championship meets. Indoor the Owls collected one first, one second and one third; outdoor the team had two firsts and three thirds ...
