CHRISTINE WARGO DEATRICK NAMED HEAD WOMEN'S CREW COACH AT TEMPLE UNIVERSITY

Deatrick comes to Temple from the University of Central Florida, where she served as an assistant coach from 1994-2000. At Central Florida, she helped guide the team to three Dad Vail Regatta titles and 12 state championships. In 2000, Deatrick served as the Head Varsity Lightweight Coach at Central Florida and the crew was ranked all season in the top 15 in the Varsity Lightweight Eight National Coaches' Poll.
A 1994 graduate of Central Florida with a B.S. in Liberal Arts, Deatrick also had an impressive collegiate rowing career that included a Dad Vail Regatta title in 1991 and two state championships in 1991 and 1993. In addition, she won two silver medals and one bronze medal at the Southern Championships in 1990, 1991 and 1993. Serving as the team captain in both her sophomore and junior years, Deatrick also was the coxswain for the Florida Athletic Club.
