GOLFERS TIE FOR SIXTH AT JAMES MADISON INVITATIONAL

Harrisonburg, Va. -- The Temple University golf team finished in a tie for sixth place at the James Madison Invitational in Harrisonburg, Va. this past weekend.

The Owls shot 285-294 for a finishing score of 579 to tie with George Mason and finish 15 strokes behind tournament champion St. John's at the par-71 Lakeview Golf Club.

Jon Rusk tied for 12th with an even par 142 (69-73) and freshman Bill Mullen finished tied for 22nd with a two over 144 (71-73).

Jerry Chen finished 38th at five over par (73-73) and James Chan tied for 71st at nine over par (72-79). Pat O'Neill finished out the scoring for the Owls with a 14 over par 156 (82-74).

The Owls next travel to Rehoboth Beach, Del. for the George Washington Invitational at Kings Creek Country Club on October 1.
