OWLS BEAT LA SALLE, WIN STREAK GOES TO NINE

PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple University volleyball team (10-2) defeated the La Salle Explorers three games to one last night, September 25 and extended their winning streak to nine games. The game scores were 30-17, 26-30, 30-20 and 30-14.

Sophomore outside hitter Yamit Haba led the Owls with 17 kills while fellow sophomore outside hitter Yun Xu posted the night's highest hitting percentage at .385 with 12 kills on 26 swings.

La Salle's Alexis Sorich led the Explorers with 11 kills and seven digs.

The Owls are back in action on Friday, September 28, 2001 when they face A-10 rival Duquesne at McGonigle Hall in Philadelphia.
