ERIN DAVIS EARNS SECOND STRAIGHT ATLANTIC 10 WOMEN'S GYMNASTICS ROOKIE OF THE WEEK AWARD

Temple University freshman Erin Davis (Newark, Del./St. Mark's H.S.) was today named the Atlantic 10 Conference Women's Gymnastics Rookie of the Week.

It is the second award in as many weeks for Davis, who performed in two competitions this past week. She finished with an all-around score of 36.675 at the Rutgers tri-meet on Jan. 16 before posting a 36.975 all-around score at the George Washington Invitational on Jan. 19. Davis paced the Owls with a score of 9.625 on the beam at the GW Invitational.

On Jan. 14, Davis earned A-10 Rookie of the Week honors after winning the all-around in her first collegiate competition to lead Temple to a season opening, 183.775-176.875, dual meet win over Ursinus on Jan. 11.

The Temple women's gymnastics team, under the direction of 17th-year head coach Ken Anderson, returns to action this Sunday, January 27 in a 2:00 p.m. dual-meet versus Maryland in College Park, Md.
