MEN'S SOCCER DEFEATS ST. BONAVENTURE 2-1

Neither team's offense kicked in until the second half of the game when the Bonnie's John Phoumanny scored on a penalty kick, giving St. Bonaventure a 1-0 advantage. In the middle of the second half, Bonnies goalie Sean Eyde left the game with an injury to his right leg. Owls forward Tony Donatelli took advantage of the St. Bonaventure's goalie switch and scored his third goal of the season on a twenty yard shot past into the net, tying the game at 1-1.
The game was decided in the 83rd minute of the game when Temple forward Steven Wacker scored the game-winning goal on a penalty kick.
Owls netminder Patrick Hannigan played all ninety minutes in goal and recorded 10 saves. The St. Bonaventure duo of Eyde and Mike Krupka posted seven saves.
The Cherry and White are back at home on Sunday, October 13, 2002 where they will face Duquesne. Game time is 1:00 p.m.
