PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple University men's soccer team (5-8, 2-3 A-10) lost a close 1-0 game to the Duquesne Dukes this afternoon, October 13, 2002 at Temple Stadium.

The Dukes scored in the 21st minute of period one when Nathan Salsi scored on a header off a corner kick that gave Duquesne a 1-0 advantage. The Owls were out-shot in the first period 3-10 but came back in the second half and came just shy of tying the game when junior Matt Moran kicked the ball just a 1/2 foot over the post. Although Temple had 10 shots in period two, they were unable to find the back of the net.

Owls goalie Patrick Hannigan played all ninety minutes in goal and posted nine saves while Duquesne goalie Terry McNelis contributed nine saves and also played all ninety minutes in the net.

The Cherry and White, under three-year head coach David MacWIlliams, go on the road next weekend to face Richmond on October 18 and George Washington on October 20. Game times are 7:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.
