TEMPLE, BIG 5 IN "SLAM DUNK HUNGER" HOLIDAY FOOD DRIVE

11.22.02 | General

Temple University has joined with the other Big 5 Schools to "Slam Dunk Hunger" during a Holiday food drive to benefit the Greater Philadelphia Food Bank. Each Big 5 school will collect canned goods at all of their Men's and Women's Basketball games during the months of November and December.

For Temple fans, the food drive begins this Sunday, November 24th at the season-opening Men's and Women's doubleheader at the Liacouras Center. Dawn Staley and the defending A-10 Champion Temple women play Santa Clara at 1:00 PM, followed by John Chaney and the Temple Men vs. Rutgers at 3:30. Fans who donate a canned good at the ticket window will be eligible to purchase upper level reserved seats for only $6.

The food drive will continue during the Women's Basketball games on November 26th (vs. Seton Hall), December 10th (vs. Rutgers) and December 27th (vs. South Carolina). Fans who donate food at any of those games will be admitted for free!

The final food collection will be at the Temple-Indiana game on Saturday, December 28th.

The Greater Philadelphia Food Bank distributes food donations to nearly 800 local nonprofit organizations, helping to feed 57,000 each week in Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties.

Help us "Slam Dunk Hunger" and see great hoops during this holiday season!
