TEMPLE WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TAMES PRINCETON TIGERS ON DAY TWO OF THE STANFORD TOURNAMENT

Palo Alto, Calif. - The Temple women's basketball team (4-1, 0-0 A-10) defeated Princeton (2-3, 0-0 Ivy League) 70-40 on November 30 at the Stanford Tournament.

First year sophomore Khadija Bowens led the Owls with 16 points, six assists and five steals in 23 minutes. Senior All-America candidate Stacey Smalls (12) and sophomore Cynthia Jordan (12) also scored in double figures for Temple. Smalls, who averaged 17 points per game during the two-day tournament was named to the all-tournament team.

Rebecca Brown led Princeton with a game-high 17 points. There were no other Tigers in double figures.

Temple forced 22 Princeton turnovers while committing 13. The Owls also won the rebounding and steals battles en route to the 30 point win.

Temple will next travel to No. 18 Boston College for a matchup with the Eagles on December 7. Tip-off is 2:00 p.m.
