WOMEN'S TRACK PLACES FOURTH AT ATLANTIC 10 CHAMPIONSHIPS; COACH GEORGE PHILLIPS NAMED A-10 WOMEN'S INDOOR TRACK COACH OF THE YEAR

Junior Naomi Beverly posted a personal best time of 7.20 in the 55 meter dash placing third overall in the event and later went on to place fifth in the 200 meter dash with a time of 25.84. Junior Aderonke Adeniyi shattered her personal best time by eight tenths of a second in the 55 meter dash with a time of 7.17 and a second place finish. Adeniyi also placed second in the 200 meter dash with a time of 25.49. Sophomore Samantha Porter also ran in the 200 meter with a time of 25.70 and a third place finish. The Owls had three runners place in the finals of the 400 meter dash including Porter with a time of 58.13 (2nd place), junior Marirose Roach with a time of 59.92 (6th place), and freshman Jessica Dunston with a time of 1:00.19 (8th place). Rounding out the sprinters was Nicole Porter with a time of 1:20.10 in the 500 meter dash and a fifth place finish.
Freshman Jessica Dunston brought home the only individual first place finish for the Owls, placing first in the 55 meter hurdles with a personal best time of 8.30 and securing a spot on the First-Team All-Atlantic 10. Fellow freshman Dreamer Patterson also finished in the top eight in the hurdles with a time of 8.55. Junior Edith Lewis finished in sixth place in the long jump with a distance of 16'08'. Lewis and freshmen Ashley Holiday and Farren Benson took third, fourth and fifth place in the triple jump with distances of 11.40m, 11.39m and 11.27m respectively. Rounding out the individual events was the shot put where sophomore Rashieda Stamps placed eighth with a distance of 11.76 meters.
In the team events, the Owls took first place in the 4X400 with a time of 3:57.72 and fifth place in the 4X800 with a time of 9:37.15.
