TEMPLE GYMNAST CICELY WARRINGTON NAMED ATLANTIC 10 CO-PERFORMER OF THE WEEK
2.26.02 | Women's Gymnastics
Warrington was the top all-around performer in Temple's 192.100-190.500 win at Massachusetts on February 23. The 192.100 team score set a new record for the Owls, who swept three of four events en route to their first victory over the Minutewomen since 1992. Warrington won the all-around title with a 38.300 effort while placing third on beam (9.750) and fourth on the vault (9.625). It marked the second time this season that she won the all-around competition.
It is the third career Atlantic 10 weekly award for Warrington, who twice captured Rookie of the Week honors last season as a junior college transfer.
Temple gymnasts have received A-10 recognition three times this season. True freshman Erin Davis was named the league's rookie of the week on January 13 and January 20.
The Temple women's gymnastics team, under the direction of 17th-year head coach Ken Anderson, returns to action this Saturday, March 2 in a 2:00 p.m. tri-meet versus Towson and Rhode Island at McGonigle Hall.
