TEMPLE'S ERIN DAVIS EARNS HER THIRD 2002 ATLANTIC 10 WOMEN'S GYMNASTICS ROOKIE OF THE WEEK AWARD

True freshman Erin Davis (Newark, Del./St. Mark's H.S.) was today named the Atlantic 10 Conference Women's Gymnastics Co-Rookie of the Week, sharing the award with Massachusetts' Nicole Groccia. It is the third rookie of the week award this season for Davis, who previously received the honor on January 13 and January 20.

Davis won the all-around competition with a 37.975 score in Temple's dual-meet, 188.825-187.750, loss to Rhode Island at McGonigle Hall on Saturday, March 2. The 37.975 score is the ninth best all-around effort in the Atlantic 10 this season. Davis finished second on the beam with a score of 9.675, tied for third on the vault (9.550) and tied for fourth on the bars (9.350). She also scored a 9.400 on the floor exercise.

The Temple women's gymnastics team, under the direction of 17th-year head coach Ken Anderson, returns to action this Saturday, March 9 in a 1:00 p.m tri-meet at the University of Bridgeport (Conn.) with Southern Connecticut State.
