GOLFERS FINISH FIFTH AT REHOBOTH BEACH INVITATIONAL

The Temple University golf team placed 5th out of 14 schools at the Rehoboth Beach Invitational, held April 15 at the Kings Creek Country Club in Rehoboth Beach, Del. The Owls shot a two-round 608 (308-300), six strokes off tournament champion Rutgers' 602 (308-294) effort.
The Owls finished ahead of Atlantic 10 member George Washington (300-311-611), Atlantic Coast Conference affiliate Virginia (315-298-613) and Philadelphia rival Villanova (315-316-631).
Temple had three competitors finish among the tournament's top 20. Sophomore James Chan (77-73) and junior Gerry Chen (73-77) tied for 13th with 150 totals. Junior Jon Rusk placed 18th with a 152 (79-73) score.
Other Temple golfers included Robert Whiting (T-29th, 79-77-156) and Pat O'Neil (T-38th, 80-79-159)
Thomas Blankvoort of George Washington won the individual title with a 141 (66-75) score.
