Temple Women's Crew "Learns to Believe" in 2002

At the start of the 2002 crew season, first year head coach Christine W. Deatrick said she wanted her team to "learn to believe that they are winners." The women's crew did just that this past season with some of its best recent finishes.

In Atlantic 10 action, the women's varsity 4 took first place at the A-10 Fall Regatta while the varsity 8 finished third. At the Atlantic 10 Championships in April, the crew placed ninth overall. The novice 8 took first place while the varsity 8 placed sixth.

Also in the fall, the varsity 8 and the varsity 4 placed first at the Braxton Regatta while the novice 8 and varsity 4 captured first place finishes at the Frostbite Regatta.

Spring highlights for the women's crew included a second place finish for the junior varsity 8 at the Knecht Cup and a sixth place finish for the varsity 8 in the semi final round of the Dad Vail Regatta.
