TEMPLE DROPS SEASON-OPENER 1-0 IN OVERTIME TO GEORGE MASON

PHILADELPHIA -- Temple men's soccer lost a tough 1-0 overtime game to George Mason in the opening match of the James Madison/ Comfort Inn Invitational Tournament held in Harrisonburg,Virginia.George Mason's Mirza Kurspahic scored the winning-goal at 97:53 of the first overtime period. Sophomore Danny Climo's coner kick was deflected to Kurspahic at the top of the six- yard box for the game-winning goal.

Temple goalkeeper Pat Hannigan (Philadelphia, Pa./ Frankford) played brilliantly in goal making seven saves, as the Owls were outshot eight to two. George Mason goalkeeper John O' Hara made two saves to get the shutout.

Temple (0-1) will meet JMU and George Mason (1-0) will face St. Francis (Pa.) in the tournament's second round on Sunday.
