OWLS SHUTOUT BY UMBC 4-0

Emmitsburg, Md. -- The Temple University men's soccer team (0-4) continued on their losing skid when they lost to the University of Maryland-Baltimore County 4-0 today, September 14, 2002.

The two teams matched shot for shot in the first period but UMBC's offense exploded in the second period. Their first goal came in the 49th minute on an unassisted rebound of Owls goalie Patrick Hannigan by forward Derek McElligot. The next three goals came within ten minutes of each other, giving UMBC the 4-0 shutout over the Owls.

Hannigan led the way for the Owls posting six saves in 90 minutes in goal.

The Owls are back in action at the Mountaineer Classic tomorrow, September 15 against Mount St. Mary's at 2:00 p.m.
