MEN'S SOCCER WINS FIRST GAME OF SEASON ON EBERSOLE GOAL

Emmittsburg, Md.--On a header into the left corner of the net, Owls forward freshman Nick Ebersole scored the first goal of the season for the Temple University men's soccer team (1-4) as they shutout Mount St. Mary's 1-0.
With just under five minutes left in the first half, Ebersole took a pass from freshman Ben Evans and headed the ball into the far left corner of the net for the only goal of the game. Goalie Patrick Hannigan posted four saves and played the entire game in the net for Temple.
After the game, Ebersole and freshmen Joe Brocker and Tim Greer were named to the Mountaineer Classic All-Tournament team.
Temple comes back home for a Philadelphia Soccer Seven game against Philadelphia University this week, September 18, 2002. Game time is 3:30 p.m.
