WOMEN'S TRACK AND FIELD TAKE SECOND PLACE AT ALBANY INVITATIONAL

Junior Samantha Porter led the Cherry and White and their winning ways with a third place finish in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.02 and a second place finish in the 400 meter dash with a time of 58.13. Sophomore Aderonke Adeniyi finished second in the 200 meter dash with a time of 25.90 and placed sixth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 59.02. Senior captain Marirose Roach also had an impressive weekend finishing seventh in the 55 meter dash with a time of 7.59, fourth in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.05 and sixth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:00.04. Rounding out the short distance runners was senior Naomi Beverly with a team high fourth place in the 55 meter dash with a time of 7.50 and a sixth place finish in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.19.
In the 500 meter run, freshman Tiffany Duncan placed fourth with a time of 1:18.16 while teammate Aisha Raheem placed fifth with a time of 1:18.68. In the 100 meter run, Ruby Amanze place third with a time of 3:07.17 while sophomore Tanesha Shelton placed fourth with a time of 3:07.54.
The Owls had four sophomores in the 55 meter hurdles including Rachel Clinton who finished second with a time of 8.24, Jessica Dunston who placed third with a time of 8.39, Dreamer Patterson who placed sixth with a time of 8.54 and Jaweia Campbell who placed eighth with a time of 8.74. Senior Edith Lewis placed second in both the long and triple jumps with distances of 5.35 meters and 11.31 meters respectively. Freshmen teammates Jenee Moore and Jillian Faulks finished seventh and eighth with distances of 5.03 meters and 4.83 meters respectively.
The team ended the day with a third place finish in the 4X400 with a time of 4:01.31 and second place in the 4X800 with a time of 9:30.47.
