MEN'S SOCCER DOWNS #22 DUQUESNE, 1-0, FOR FIFTH STRAIGHT WIN

Brocker, who has been the Owls top defender all season, sent a 40-yard direct kick perfectly into the box where freshmen Matt Maher headed it home for the game's lone score in the ninth minute of play. He then helped limit the Dukes high-powered offense to just three shots on goal, all saved by junior keeper Patrick Hannigan.
"To go on the road and win two games in this league says a lot for out team," stated Temple head coach David MacWilliams. "I am proud of the effort today and all season."
Hannigan, who lowered his goals against average to a miserly 0.24, notched his sixth shutout in eight matches played. On the year, the Temple defense has allowed just eight goals, while posting eight shutouts in 13 matches.
Temple played for all but the first 10 minutes of the contest without the services of starting midfielder Ryan Heins. The Owl freshman took the field for the opening 10 minutes but had to leave the game due to flu-like symptoms.
Duquesne goalkeeper Zach Varga recorded five saves on the day.
Temple will play its final two games in the program's history at Temple Stadium this weekend as the team will move to its new home on the University's Ambler campus next year. The Owls host Richmond on Friday, October 24 at 3:00 p.m. and then take on George Washington in its final home match of the season on Sunday (1:00 p.m.).
