WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYS HOST TO KENTUCKY AS PART OF WOMEN'S/MEN'S DOUBLEHEADER

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple women's basketball team will host Kentucky of the SEC on Saturday, December 13 at the Liacouras Center. The game is part of a women's/men's doubleheader and tip-off is scheduled fo 2:00 p.m. Following the women's game, the Temple men will host Penn State at 5:00 p.m.

Both Kentucky and Temple are coming off home losses as the Wildcats fell to Xavier, 75-60, on December 10 and the Owls lost to Big Five rival Penn, 70-64, on December 9.

Sophomore center Candice Dupree, who scored a career-high 29 points and grabbed 10 rebounds against Penn, leads Temple in scoring (18.5 ppg.) and is tied for the team lead in rebounding (6.5 rpg.). Junior guard Cynthia Jordan is the team leader in assists (4.5 apg.) and ranks third in scoring (10.5 ppg.). Kentucky is the first of three SEC opponents that Temple will face this season.

Senior center SeSe Helm leads Kentucky in scoring (17.6 ppg.) and rebounding (8.7 rpg.). The Wildcats are 1-1 against the Atlantic 10 this season with a win over Duquesne and their loss to Xavier.
