PHILADELPHIA- The Temple women's track and field team opened its indoor season at the first annual Jack Pyrah Invitational on Sunday afternoon at Haverford College. The Owls were scheduled to compete in the Bison Invitational at Bucknell on Saturday, but that meet was postponed due to inclement weather.

First placer finishers in the invitational included Jessica Dunston in the 55m hurdles with a time of 8.29. Freshman Rachel Johnson captured first-place in the 500 meters with a time of 1:18:52. The 4x400m relay team placed second with a time of 4:06.53. Other notable results for Temple, Jillian Faulks placed third in the long jump (4.88.9) and Jeweia Campbell placed third in the 55 meter dash with a time of 7.43.

Next the Cherry and White will compete in the Great Dane Classic on January 18 (2p.m.) in New York, New York.
