PHILADELPHIA - Junior center Lorenthea Jones of the Temple women's basketball team (8-13, 4-6 A-10) earned Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Week honors on Tuesday, February 11. Jones scored a career-high 27 points and tied a career best with eight rebounds in the Owls' 67-63 win over La Salle on Sunday, February 9. Jones shot 11-14 (78.6 percent) from the field and 5-6 from the free throw line in 28 minutes. Prior to the game against La Salle, the Marion, Ohio native averaged a shade under three points per game with a season-high of seven points. This is the first Big 5 Player of the Week for the Owls and for Jones.
