He will be joined on court by 6 transplant recipients from the Philadelphia area. Transplant recipients from Team Philadelphia (14 years and under) will compete in a 3-on-3 competition during half-time. Team Philadelphia won the silver medal at the 2002 U.S. Transplant Games in Orlando, FL.

BACKGROUND: GET GAME - GIVE LIFE has the mission of increasing awareness to young adults 18-21 years of age and support the local Philadelphia transplant community, including transplant recipients, donors, OPOs, physicians and transplant centers.
The Gift of Life Organ Donor Program is the non-profit federally designated organ procurement organization for Philadelphia. Gift of Life serves people in Pennsylvania, Delaware and Northern New Jersey responding to potential organ and tissue donors at
13 transplant centers. Currently, over 4,000 area residents are waiting for a life-saving organ transplant.

The Temple-NC State contest is the first game of a unique doubleheader; Head Coach Dawn Staley and the Temple Women will tip off against Dayton following the men's game.
