PHILADELPHIA-- After honoring their departing seniors, the Temple University Women's Gymnastics team (6-6) defeated the West Chester Golden Rams 189.275 to 182.500 this evening February 20, 2002 at McGonigle Hall. The Owls placed first in every event including the All-Around.
Junior Paige Ozaroski led the Owls in the win with a season and meet high 9.825 on the uneven bars. Ozaroski missed the Temple record by just .02 of a point.
Temple swept the top spots in the vault with Cicely Warrington leading the way with a 9.575 and Andrea McGary and Katie Domenico taking second with a 9.550 each. Warrington also took first place on the floor exercise with a 9.750. On the balance beam, Lindsay Stern placed first with a 9.450.
West Chester was led by Ashley Gillman and Beth McGinty with scores of 36.025 and 35.625 respectively in the All-Around competition.
Next up for the Owls is a tri meet with Rhode Island and West Virginia on March 1.
