G. JOSEPH GIUNTA APPOINTED ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF ATHLETICS FOR SPORTS ADMINISTRATION AT TEMPLE UNIVERSITY

G. Joseph Giunta has been appointed Associate Director of Athletics for Sports Administration at Temple University, it was announced today (Monday, February 24, 2002) by Director of Athletics Bill Bradshaw.

Giunta comes to Temple from Neumann College in Aston, Pa. where he has been director of athletics since 2000. He also served as director of alumni relations and special programs at Neumann from 1994-1996. He was director of athletics at St. Edward High School (1997-2000) in Lakewood, Ohio before returning to Neumann.

A 1993 graduate of Neumann with a bachelors of arts degree in communications in 1993, he earned a masters in sports administration & facilty management in July, 1997 from Ohio University.

Giunta competed in varsity basketball and tennis at Neumann. He scored 1,600 points in three seasons and led the Knights to the playoffs for the first time in school history in 1991-92. He still owns several school basketball records.
