WOMEN'S GYMNASTICS PLACES FIRST IN TRI-MEET

PHILADELPHIA, PA.-The Temple women's gymnastics team (5-6) defeated Penn (6-4) 191.875-191.075 in a tri-meet on Friday, Feb. 7 at McGonigle Hall. The meet also included Wilson College (0-5), who recorded a team score of 174.525 to place third.

The Owls trailed the Quakers after three rotations 143.500-143.075. Temple was paced by magnificent floor exercise routines by senior Cicely Warrington and sophomore Lexis Zafferes. Warrington had a 9.90 and Zafferes posted a 9.80 to clinch the win for the Owls.

After struggling on the beam Warrington saved her best for last as she soared through the air, leaving the home crowd chanting for a perfect score of 10 from the judges after her superb performance on the floor.

Temple won the vault (47.975-47.575) and the floor (48.800-48.025).

While Penn captured the bars (48.375-48.325) led by Christina Anzalone's 9.85. Emily Petkun paced the Quakers to victory on the beam (47.100-46.775) with a 9.55.

The Owls will travel to the state of Maryland to compete in the Towson Invitational on Sunday, Feb. 16 at 1p.m.
