MEN'S VARSITY 8 TAKES FIRST AT MURPHY CUP REGATTA FOR 18th STRAIGHT YEAR

Temple's men's Novice 8 took third place with a time of 6:05.63.
Temple women's Lightweight 4 took third place in the finals with a time of 7:40.03 while the Novice 8 placed fourth with a time of 7:10.10.
The Murphy Cup Regatta is an annual event held in honor of former Temple rower, John J. Murphy who rowed for Temple from 1979-1981 and led the Cherry and White to five consecutive Dad Vail Regatta title's. Tragically, in the summer of 1981, Murphy was killed in a hit and run accident. The regatta is held in his memory and has grown to become one of the premier collegiate events on the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia.
Next weekend, April 26, Temple Women's Crew heads to the Atlantic 10 Championships in Collingswood, New Jersey while Temple Men's Crew heads to the Georgetown Invitational in Washington D.C.
