ADENIYI NAMED ATLANTIC 10 WOMEN'S OUTDOOR TRACK STUDENT-ATHLETE OF THE YEAR

PHILADELPHIA -- Senior Aderonke Adeniyi was named Atlantic 10 Women's Outdoor Track Student-Athlete of the Year it was announced today, May 14, 2003 by the Atlantic 10. Adeniyi earned the same honor during the Indoor Season.
Adeniyi earned Most Outstanding Track Performer honors at the 2003 Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track and Field Championships in April. The junior from Lagos, Nigeria took gold medals in both the 100-meter dash (11.81) and the 200- meter dash (24.02) breaking the Atlantic 10 record in each event. She was also a member of the Owls' 4X100 meter relay team which finished first in an Atlantic 10 record time of 46.79.
Adeniyi has a 3.80 GPA as a biochemistry major and is a member of the Dean's List, the Athletic Director's Honor Roll and the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Cup Honor Roll.
Joining Adeniyi on the Academic All-Conference team was sophomore Rachel Clinton and junior Samantha Porter.
