TEMPLE GOLFERS RANK 8TH AFTER FIRST DAY AT NAVY FALL INVITATIONAL

ANNAPOLIS, MD - The Temple Owls opened their 2003 men's golf schedule on Saturday at the Navy Fall Invitational. After the first day of the two-day event, the Owls ranked eighth of 14 teams with a combined 15-over par score of 299 at the par 71 USNA Golf Course.
Senior Matt Roberts led the way for the Owls, carding a two-over par 73 to place 16th in the field of 74 linksters. Freshman Logan Terry and junior Bill Mullen were one stroke back to tie for 19th overall. Sophomore Chris Thude (80 and junior Pat O'Neill (83) rounded out TU's five-man squad.
Georgetown, with a four-under par score of 280, leads the invitational after one day. Towson is close behind with 285 strokes followed by Winthrop (290), George Washington and Saint Joseph's (292), Rutgers (296), William & Mary (298) and then Temple. Delaware (300) along with Pennsylvania and the Navy Blue team (301) round out the Top 10.
