OWL GOLFERS PLACE THIRD AT REHOBOTH BEACH INVITATIONAL

REHOBOTH, DE-The Temple golf team, under the direction of third-year head coach Bill Mannino, had its second top-three finish in a week, as the Owls finished third at the Rehoboth Beach Invitational at the par 70 Kings Creek Country Club on Monday, September 29.

Temple shot a two-round 613 (312-301), finishing behind tourney champion George Washington (297-291=588) and Drexel (296-293=589).

Once again, junior Billy Mullen led the way, finishing tied for sixth with a 149 (75-74) effort. It marked his second straight top 10 performance after a career-best second place finish at last weekend's McLaughlin Invitational.

Senior Matt Roberts also performed well, shooting a 152 (77-73) to finish tied for 13th place. Other Temple competitors included freshman Logan Terry (18th, 78-76=154) and senior James Chan (35th, 82-81=163). Junior Pat O'Neill was disqualified in the first round before shooting a second-round 76.

Temple returns to the links this weekend, as the Owls host the Temple Invitational at Glenmaura National Golf Club in Moosic, Pa., October 3-4.
