VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO No. 18 OHIO STATE

Columbus, Ohio -- The Temple volleyball team (0-5, 0-0 A-10) remained winless on the season when it lost to 18th - ranked host Ohio State three games to one on September 7, day two of the Buckeye Classic. The game scores were 25-30, 25-30, 30-22 and 21-30.

Senior middle blocker Charity Hill led the Temple attack with 10 kills as she was the only Owl who recorded double-digit kill numbers. Senior outside hitter Yamit Haba added nine kills while sophomore outside hitter Stephanie Buynovsky had eight kills. Junior setter Alison Runk, who was named to the all-tournament team, dished out 35 assists for Temple.

Stacey Gordon (28 kills, 11 digs) led Ohio State with a match-high double-double. Brianna McCarthy had a match-high 47 assists for the Buckeyes. As a team, Ohio State hit .224 while Temple hit .153.

The Owls will open their home season on Tuesday, September 9 when they face Villanova at McGonigle Hall. Match time is 7:00 p.m.
