WOMEN'S TRACK AND FIELD COMPETES IN COVERT CLASSIC AND PENN STATE NATIONAL INVITATIONAL

1.31.04 | Women's Track and Field

Senior Jaweia Campbell captured first-place in the 60-meter hurdles and third in the 60-meter dash at the John Covert Classic on Saturday afternoon January 31 at Rauch Field House on the campus of Lehigh University. Campbell crossed the tape in 9.12 in the 60-meter hurdles and 8.15 in the 60-meter dash.

The Owls using a split-squad also participated in the Penn State National Invitational at State College, Pa.

In the Penn State National Invitational juniors Rachel Clinton (8.84) and Jessica Dunston (8.89) placed 14th and 15th respectively out of a national field of 44 competitors in the 60-meter hurdles.

The Temple 4x800 relay team led by junior Tanesha Shelton, freshman Rachel Johnson, sophomore Aisha Raheem and anchored by senior Ruby Amanze placed second with a time of 8:49.30.

Next the Owls will compete at the University of Delaware on February 7-8.
