WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TO HOST FORDHAM IN RARE 12:00 NOON START AS PART OF "STALEY SCHOOL DAY"

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple women's basketball team will tip-off its Atlantic 10 Conference schedule with a 12:00 noon game against Fordham at the Liacouras Center on January 6. The 12:00 noon tip-off is part of the second annual "Staley School Day Field Trip" as over four thousand children from across the Delaware Valley are expected to attend. Music legend Chubby Checker is scheduled to provide the halftime entertainment.

Sophomore center Candice Dupree, the sixth-leading scorer in the A-10 (17.2 ppg.) tops the Owls in scoring and rebounding (6.4 rpg.). Junior point guard and co-captain, Cynthia Jordan, the team's number two scorer (11.6 ppg.), leads Temple in assists (4.4 apg.) and has a league-best 2.4/1 assist/turnover ratio.

Beth Ann Dickinson is Fordham's top point producer at 15.5 ppg. Junior forward Stacey Price leads the Rams in rebounding at 6.8 boards per contest.

Temple (4-6) is 12th in the nation in fewest turnovers per game while Fordham (6-4) averages nearly 19 turnovers per contest. The Owls lead the all-time series between the two schools 12-4 and won the last meeting at Fordham's Rose Hill Gymnasium, 58-49.
