MEN'S SOCCER RANKED 8TH IN REGIONAL POLL

PHILADELPHIA - Riding a four-game win streak, the Temple University men's soccer team has cracked the Middle Atlantic Regional rankings for the first time all season, placing eighth among this week's Top 10 poll. The Owls, currently 8-6-2, 5-1-2 in Atlantic 10 Conference play, next take the pitch Friday when they play at George Washington (3:00 p.m.).
Senior Patrick Hannigan, the reigning A-10 Player of the Week, leads the Owls. The 6-3 goalkeeper has not allowed a goal over the last 331 minutes of play and has compiled a 1.13 goals against average and five shutouts on the season. Junior defender Joe Brocker is one of the region's top sweeper backs and helps provide support to one of the conference's top defensive units.
Freshman Stephen Bristow leads a balanced Temple offense with four goals and three assists for 11 points. Junior Tony Donatelli tops the Owls with five assists.
Besides GW, the Owls have two other road games - Richmond (Oct. 31, 1:00 p.m.) and Saint Joseph's (Nov. 6, 7:00 p.m.) - on their regular season schedule. Temple stands in second place in the conference, one point behind Duquesne (18 points).
