TEMPLE FINISHES TIED FOR 10TH AT JOE AGEE GOLF INVITATIONAL

PROVIDENCE FORGE, VA -- The Temple University golf team, playing in its third tournament of the fall, finished tied for 10th with a three-round, 58-over par, 922 (306-304-312) at the Joe Agee Invitational, played October 4-5. The Owls improved three positions after day one competition on Monday that consisted of two rounds on the par 72, 6,697-yard, Royal New Kent Golf Course.
Senior Billy Mullen was the Cherry & White's top performer, shooting a 226 (78-73-75) to finish tied for 22nd place in the 93-player field. Senior Patrick O'Neill carded Temple's next best score, shooting a 229 (73-79-77) to conclude the event tied for 32nd position. Logan Terry (t-54th, 78-75-80=233), Pat Garrison (t-59th, 77-77-80=234) and Matt Roberts (91st, 78-83-91=252) comprised the rest of the Owl scorecard.
Rutgers won the 17-team tournament. The Scarlet Knights (286-291-294=871, +7) defeated host William & Mary (291-289-297=877, +13) by six strokes in the event that featured six eagles and 540 birdies. Three student-athletes posted under par efforts for the tournament, including tourney champion Alex Brueggmann from Towson, who registered a two-under 214 (67-72-75) to win by a stroke over teammate Jeff Castle and the Tribe's Tim Pemberton.
The Owls, under the direction of first-year coach Brian Rogers, return to the links this weekend (Oct. 9-10) for the James Madison Invitational in Harrisonburg, Va.
