PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple men's soccer team finally climbed to the top of the Philadelphia Soccer Seven poll and junior Tony Donatelli capped a stellar regular season by sharing the league Player of the Week honors with La Salle's Ryan Dougherty.

The Owls, which posted consecutive double figure win seasons for the first time since the 1986, 1987 campaigns, jumped above Villanova by virtue of its 6-1 win over Saint Joseph's on November 6. The Wildcats went 0-1-1 on the week to fall to second place in a vote of the league's coaches.

Donatelli, a midfielder from Glenside, Pa. (Germantown Academy), tallied a goal and two assists in the win over SJU.  He now leads the Owls in scoring with three goals and a Soccer Seven-leading eight assists.  His 14 points is tied for PSS honors while his 0.74 points per game ranks third in the city-league.

Temple, 10-7-2, next plays La Salle on Thursday (11 a.m.) in first round action at the Atlantic 10 Championships hosted by George Washington at its Athletic Complex at Mount Vernon.
